Government
Rockall as a micronation operates as a symbolic and satirical democratic republic, representing ideals of sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and social equity... but with a touch of humour for good measure.
Under the Rockallish system, the President plays a fairly ceremonial role whilst political decisions are largely taken by the Prime Minister, as the head of government who commands a majority of the Seanadh (Rockall’s legislature). The Rockallish Constitution outlines the powers and functions of the nation’s institutions, as well as the responsibilities of the state and the rights of its citizens.
Though primarily a micronational project, Rockall seeks to model transparency, participatory governance, and peaceful international cooperation.
Prime Minister
Albert Joseph
Albert Joseph began his political career as the provisional governor of Rockall. He helped to establish the micronation in its earliest form and even wrote its first constitution. Joseph is a natural diplomat, he seeks to build bridges between nations and help resolve their differences. Now with a new role as Prime Minister, the second in his nation's history, he is tasked with building alliances and obtaining diplomatic recognition from other nations in addition to leading the coalition government.
Chancellor of the Exchequer
Harlando Jeffersoni
With a reputation for good budgeting and being an all round cheapskate, Jeffersoni is the nation's top financial expert. Whilst he has no background in economics and hates dealing with cash, he’s ready to tax the hell out of his enemies, and reward those most closest to him. He’s ready to deliver the budget his country so desperately needs, however due to some dodgy dealigns in the past, he has had his face pixilated to avoid detection from the authorities. He hopes that one day Rockall can create its own currency.
